🔴 [NOW] Parliament Confirms Sánchez as PM

With 179 votes in favor and 171 against, Pedro Sánchez just got four more years.

It’s done. After months of uncertainty and a lot of political bickering, caretaker Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez just got the necessary votes to be PM for four more years.

• There were no surprises during the voting process. Out of the 350 seats in Parliament, 179 MPs voted in favor while 171 MPs voted against.

• Despite last night’s warning from Catalan separatist parties ERC and Junts, both of them voted in favor of Sánchez.

• Now that he’s removed the word “caretaker” from his title, PM Sánchez is expected to form a minority coalition government with left-of-center-left Sumar.
